Pedestrian hit, killed by train in Holly Springs

A Holly Springs man was hit and killed Monday morning while walking on the edge of the railroad track, according to coroner James Richard Anderson.
Robert Hunt, 61, died when he was struck by the westbound train, Anderson said. It happened between Salem Ave­nue and Govan Avenue in Holly Springs, he said.
The call came in around 5:35 a.m. December 18. Anderson pronounced Hunt dead on the scene at about 5:53 a.m.
Cause of death was blunt force trauma, he said.
