Zinn proposes use of building

District 4 supervisor George Zinn said citizens have proposed the new building at the Chulahoma Community Center on Highway 4 West be used for educational purposes.

The old cannery building was rebuilt by the county with insurance money following the December 23, 2015, tornado that leveled the structure but left the community center standing.

Zinn said community members suggested the building be used for GED preparation, adult education and basic computer classes.

“We would see if Northwest would run it and people in the community open and close it,” Zinn said. “This is the use the community chose.”
