White with frost

Marshall Countians woke up Tuesday to a hoarfrost, defined as a deposit of ice crystals on objects exposed to the free air, such as grass blades, tree branches, or leaves. It is formed by direct condensation of water vapour to ice at temperatures below freezing and occurs when air is brought to its frost point by cooling. It is said about Jack Frost, that he comes when Father Frost, who lives way up North at the cold North Pole, gets a tickle up his nose that makes him sneeze so hard that it blows snow and ice all the way down to Mississippi.
