Two killed in accident

Two Marshall County residents died in a head-on accident Tuesday, June 20, according to coroner James Richard Anderson.
He said the vehicles collided in the late afternoon on Highway 4 West about five miles west of Highway 7 South. It happened about one-fourth mile east of McIntire Road intersection with Highway 4 West.
The 911 call came in at 4:55 p.m. and he was called to the scene at 5:08 p.m.
One of those killed in the crash, Melvin Antonio Smith, 35, of the Holly Springs address area, was driving eastbound in a Mercury Marquis.
