Two injured in overturn of HSUD bucket truck

Two Holly Springs Utility Department employees working to install a new service off Highway 311 Monday were injured when the truck overturned. The accident took place shortly after 1 p.m.

Maurice Jeffries was airlifted via Air Evac with a concussion and Christopher Muse was transported to Methodist Hospital in Memphis by Lifeguard.

Sources say the soil was wet and wood pads were not placed under the outriggers. The bucket was overextended when the service truck tipped over with the two employees in the bucket.

The employees rode the bucket all the way down until it struck the ground and the bucket broke since it is made of fiberglass.

The lines that were being installed were not energized.

Davis Wrecker Service of Red Banks uprighted the truck and it was towed to the Holly Springs Utility Department.

On the scene were other employees with HSUD, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputies, two Lifeguard Ambulances, firemen from the Holly Springs and Red Banks fire departments and Air Evac.

The location of the accident was 2751 Highway 311.
