Top 15 in the state for Mary Reid kindergarteners
MKAS is a test administered to all kindergarten students across the state. It is given in the fall and spring to assess skills. “After the fall test, teachers use that data to see how to move students forward to help them to be fluent readers and to give them a strong math foundation,” said Leigh Anne Sanderson, principal of Mary Reid last year who has now moved to a position at the Marshall County School District central office. For the spring 2018 MKAS test administration, Mary Reid School in Potts Camp was in the top 15 for the state of all elementary schools with a kindergarten. “We are proud of all of our students, teachers, and parents,” Sanderson said.
