Telecommunications Week April 9-15

April 9-15 is National Telecommunications Week, a time to say “thank you” to public safety officers in the many categories of first responders – to include firefighters, law enforcement, medic/ambulance workers, dispatchers, search and rescue workers, and the list goes on.
In Holly Springs, Friday is the day set for school children to get an up-close look at a fire engine, a police car, an ambulance, a helicopter, and a search dog team. The children will be the next generation of first responders. The Safety Day for kids is being held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Sam Coopwood Park.
