Bank of Holly Springs

Suspects sought in store robberies

Dollar General in Red Banks was the recent victim of an armed robbery, according to Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson.

Three masked men entered the store about closing time, 9:30 p.m. March 20, brandishing handguns and demanding money from the safe and cash registers, the sheriff said.

During the holdup, with two employees present in the store, one of the robbers fired a shot into the ceiling while demanding all the store money, he said.

The incident was captured on video surveillance cameras inside the store, plus part of the escape vehicle, parked in front of the store, was also captured on video. It appeared to be a gray car.

During the ensuing investigation, Sheriff Dickerson learned that Dollar General stores in Lee County and Lafayette County had also been robbed by these same suspects, based on comparison of store videos in all three locations.

Dickerson asks anyone with information that could help solve these armed robberies of Dollar General stores to call his office at 662-252-1311 and ask to speak to investigators. Callers may remain anonymous and the information provided will be kept strictly confidential.

Dickerson said a substantial reward is being offered for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of these three suspects.

The Dollar General in Red Banks is located at 4200 Highway 178 West.
