Suspects identified in shooting

Three suspects have been identified in a shooting on Highway 178 Monday, June 27, where three individuals were found shot in a vehicle, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.

Zylandria Kimmons, 23, of the 1000 block of West Woodward Avenue was arrested and charged with three counts attempted murder, he said. She is being held without bond, the sheriff said.

A second suspect, Jerrondrai Thomas, 43, of the 900 block of Hudsonville Road, was arrested and charged with three counts of attempted murder, Dickerson said. Thomas is being held in the Benton County jail. No bond was set as of presstime.

A third suspect in this incident is still being sought by authorities, Dickerson said.

Of the three individuals who were found shot in a vehicle on 178 and taken to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., two have been released and one remained in the hospital Thursday, July 7.

Dickerson said the investigation is ongoing and is asking the community to come forward with any information regarding this incident.

Two males are dead following an altercation at M&W Quick Stop near Slayden, Monday, July 4, the sheriff said.

The deceased include Demarcus Pate, 28, of the 300 block of Sunset Ridge, Rossville, Tenn., Dickerson said.

Pate was pronounced dead at the Regional One Medical Center in Memphis. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds, McMillen said.

Travis Shields, 39, of the 1900 block of Roberts Chapel Road, was pronounced dead on the scene at the store by coroner James Richard Anderson.

Both deaths were the result of gunshot wounds.

Shooting on 309 South A shooting in the 8900

block of Highway 309 South Thursday, July 6, at 5:30 p.m. Sent one subject to the hospital.

Deputies and officers arrived at the scene to find a male subject shot multiple times, McMillen said.

Cortez Milan, 33, 5100 block of Highway 309 South was airlifted to Regional One Medical Center and remained in critical condition Thursday, July 7, McMillen said.

Frankie Cathey, 43, of the 8900 block of Highway 309 South was taken into custody, interviewed and released, McMillen said.

The case will be presented to a Marshall County grand jury, McMillen said.
