Suspects identified in home invasion

• Two arrested

Four suspects have been identified in a Sept. 27 home invasion and armed robbery, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.

The home invasion took place around 10 p.m. in the Highway 309 South area of the Wall Hill community.

Dickerson said three masked men kicked in the front door of a homeowner and demanded the resident lie down on the floor, then demanded the victims wallet, taking approximately $1,600 at gunpoint.

The victim said the suspects were armed with AR-15 rifles and an AK 47 assault rifle.

Uniformed officers, criminal investigators, and Dickerson worked on the investigation from the night of the robbery into Sunday developing leads.

Monday, Sept. 30, around noon one suspect was arrested and charged with the armed robbery and a second suspect was in custody shortly after noon.

Warrants for the arrest of two other suspects identified in the armed robbery have been issued, Dickerson said.

Antonio Fedell Davis, 24, of the 200 block of Chesterman Street in Holly Springs, was in custody Monday and charged with armed robbery, the sheriff said.

A second suspect, Julian Saulsberry Jr., 26, of the 100 block of Young Road in Byhalia, was charged at 2 p.m. Monday and remains in custody.

Two other suspects have been identified in the armed robbery and warrants have been issued for their arrest, the sheriff said.

Stolen car

Holly Springs Police Officers spotted a stolen Infiniti from the Oxford area Sunday, Sept. 27. The late model white Infiniti was spotted in the Van Dorn Avenue area.

Holly Springs officers initiated a pursuit and the driver fled in the Infiniti westbound on I-22 entering DeSoto County where they were picked up.

The suspects made a U-turn in DeSoto County and drove the stolen Infiniti where the suspects turned on Gravel Pit Road off Bubba Taylor Road and ran into a dead end.

The suspects fled on foot into a wooded area and a foot search was initiated with K-9 officers from DeSoto County, the sheriff said.

After extensive attempts to locate the suspects the search was abandoned.

However, evidence was left in the Infiniti, leading to the identity of a suspect whose wallet was found with a driver’s license in the area of the seat.

Dickerson said guns were recovered in the door compartments on driver and passenger front doors.

A detective assigned to the investigation from Oxford said he was familiar with the suspect whom he had dealt with on cases of auto theft prior to the theft of the Infiniti, the sheriff said.

One handgun was stolen from Marshall County and the other was stolen from Fayette County, Tenn., Dickerson said.

He said it is believed one of the suspects is possibly a convicted felon and could be charged federally regarding the firearm, pending additional investigation.

The identity of the second suspect is being sought as well as the whereabouts of the suspects, the sheriff said.
