Supervisors nix gate

The owner of a property at the end of Jimmy Lane requested the board of supervisors allow her to close off the road near the dead end with a gate.

Liberti Pounders said she and her husband bought the property to build their “forever home” when their child graduates. But hunters drive into an adjoining property at the dead end and leave trash in the area. She wants privacy and a driveway.

Board attorney Kent Smith explained that other landowners have rights as well and changing the right-of-way could affect them.

“It is a formal procedure and there are three or four different factors that will have to be looked at before the board considers it,” he said.
