Super Bowl Sunday, one of the greatest days in American sports

The greatest day in American sports is undoubtedly Super Bowl Sunday. Search Google and see the answer for the top 29 of 30 most watched televised events in American history. The Super Bowl, of course, and we can’t forget the series finale of “M*A*S*H “Goodbye, Farewell,” Amen, which has been in the top ten for forty years.

It is an unsung national holiday, which is equivalent to Christmas for football fans across the world. Everything about Super Bowl Sunday is special, from the parties to the commercials, and who could ever forget the halftime show? This year was a classic battle of heavyweights; a rematch of Super Bowl 54 promised to be all we could ever ask for. A win for the Kansas City Chiefs would cement them as the team of the 2020s. A dynasty on the horizon wouldn’t stop the San Francisco 49ers from spoiling greatness, as the team who were favorites in this game dominated 90 percent of their opponents this season.

The first quarter was a warmup period for both teams. Costly turnovers on promising drives displayed anxiety and rust until the second quarter when a beautiful play drawn up by Kyle Shanahan saw Christian McCaffrey burst into the end zone, giving the Niners a 10-0 lead. Though it may seem like the Niners could run away with the game, things will never be easy whenever you have number 15 on the opposing side. The Chiefs drove the length of the field right before the half, coming away with three points down 10-3 at the half.

The fireworks came after the Ushers’ halftime performance- seeing Kansas City football Patrick Mahomes and San Francisco Brock Purdy, quarterback, put on a passing clinic. Both quarterbacks finished with over 300+yards. A game this good needed another quarter to settle the dust, and the final drive of the game was an absolute masterpiece put on by Mahomes, winning his third Super Bowl 25-22. The Kansas City Chiefs added their fourth Super Bowl to their Franchise history. Mahomes would be named Most Valuable Player after another stellar performance, giving him three Super Bowl MVPs in his career. The only thing left to say is, “The dynasty is alive and most definitely well.”
