Chelius Carter, owner of the Hugh Craft House and member of the board of Preserve Marshall County & Holly Springs, said the Behind the Big House Tour is “getting some feet – getting some traction.”
The seventh annual event was held April 19-22, the same weekend as the 80th annual Tour of Historic Homes, sponsored by the Holly Springs Garden Club.
The Behind the Big House Tour included Joseph McGill, founder of the Slave Dwelling Project, and Michael Twitty, culinary historian and author of “The Cooking Gene.”
