Sheriff’s department looks for suspect

A Thursday afternoon chase of two suspects by a Marshall County narcotics agent resulted in the arrest of a female suspect. A male suspect is still at large, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.

The chase began after the driver of a gray Chevrolet Cavalier refused to stop when the officer turned on his blue lights and siren. The high-speed chase began in the Cayce Road area and led onto Highway 72 and northward to the Piperton, Tenn., area.

A short distance into Tennessee, the driver did a turnaround in the middle of the westbound lane of Highway 72. Dickerson said the suspect’s vehicle was traveling east in the westbound lane. The pursuit continued to near Moore’s Grocery in the Cayce Road area where the suspect driver bailed out of his car and fled on foot into a wooded area.
