Runoff election Tuesday

The runoff election in both the Democratic and Republican primaries will be held next Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

There will be six races on the Democratic runoff ballot – circuit clerk, supervisor District 1, justice court judge South, constable North, constable South and state senator District 10.

There will be three runoff races on the Republican runoff ballot next Tuesday – governor, attorney general and Northern District transportation commissioner.

Those who voted in the Democratic primary August 6 will be required to vote in the Democratic runoff. Those who voted in the Republican primary August 6 will be required to vote in the Republican runoff. Those who did not vote August 6 can select either the Democratic or Republican ballot in the August 27 runoff.

Absentee voting for the Democratic and Republican runoffs is available in the circuit clerk’s office. Regular hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline to vote absentee in the circuit clerk’s office is this Saturday, Aug. 24, at 12 noon.
