Runoff election Tuesday
The Democratic Primary runoff election for U.S. Senate is set for Tuesday, June 26.
On the ballot next week are David Baria and Howard Sherman, the top two vote-getters from a six-person race back on June 5.
Baria is a state representative and House minority leader from Bay St. Louis, and Sherman is a venture capitalist and husband of actress Sela Ward of Meridian.
The winner will face Republican incumbent Roger Wicker in the General Election November 6.
Absentee voting is still available in the Marshall County Circuit Clerk’s office for the Democratic runoff between Senate candidates Baria and Sherman. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week. Plus, the office will be open this Saturday, June 23, from 8 a.m. to noon for absentee voting. June 23 at noon is the deadline for absentee voting.
Polls will be open Tuesday, June 26, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Those who voted Republican in the primary June 5 cannot vote in this Democratic runoff. Anyone who did not vote in the June 5 primary can participate in this election.
