Pursuit leads to arrest
Officers responded to a house fire call to 1342 Mt. Zion Road Monday, April 16, around 2 p.m. It was reported a person could be inside the burning house, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.
He said witnesses on the scene identified a suspect, Kenneth Raphael Todd, 28, with a Cordova, Tenn., address who allegedly started the fire in his grandmother’s home.
Kenneth Jones, an investigator with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, attempted to take Todd into custody on the scene but a short pursuit on foot was unsuccessful, Dickerson said.
Todd fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Camaro with Georgia tags, the sheriff said. A pursuit of the Camaro proceeded westbound on Mt. Zion Road, then southbound on Cayce Road.
