Police seek suspects in Tyson's burglary

Tyson Drugs was burglarized Saturday night and Holly Springs Police Department detectives are asking the public's help in identifying two suspects whose images were caught on surveillance cameras as they left the premises.

One suspect entered the store through the west side window that was shattered by a brick. The window is being used for pick-up service during the Coronavirus pandemic. It was previously used to serve nutrition drinks and items from the ice cream fountain.

Det. Justin Holpe, with the HSPD, said the other subject acted as the lookout during the burglary, which occurred about 9:19 p.m.

He said lots of medications were taken from behind the prescription counter.

One suspect has been tentatively identified and is believed to be from Holly Springs and already has criminal charges against him for breaking and entering, Holpe said. The other suspect has not yet been identified.

No cash was missing from the business, the detective said.

Holpe said store video shows the suspect who entered through the window appeared to be on the phone with someone as he was looking for medications.

He said he believes the suspects knew how to avoid detection by the alarm system since it did not go off during the burglary. The motion detector didn't sound because the subject was squatting all the way through the store, out of the visual range of the surveillance camera, the detective said.

"They obviously cased the store and knew where the motion detector was and hid behind counters," owner Bob Lomenick said. "That has now been rectified."

One pill bottle that the subject touched with no gloves on has been placed into evidence and fingerprints were pulled, Holpe said.

Lomenick said he appreciates the police department's response and continuing work on the case.

Holpe is asking anyone who knows or thinks they recognize the pictured suspects, to call the police department at 662-252-2122 and ask to speak with detectives.

Also, police are asking anyone who knows the location of these two suspects to call and report what they know about their whereabouts.
