Police adding presence at Rust

Holly Springs police officers will use the guard house at the entrance of Rust College as a kind of substation.

In a recent discussion on the topic with the board of aldermen, Mayor Kelvin Buck said Rust College would not have asked police officers to have a presence if they did not think it would benefit the college security.

“We have been doing everything we can to prevent unwanted activity in the city,” said Buck, also mentioning the placement of sky cops (cameras) around town.

“It’s not that big of a deal. We have a responsibility to protect them (the college), too.”
