An electrical outage Tuesday, June 19, before dark was the result of a tripped relay at the Holly Springs Utility Department’s South Substation on Neely Avenue.
Every HSUD customer, some 11,500 in all, lost power for two to three hours.
Bill Stone, general manager of HSUD, said the tripped relay was on the TVA side of the substation.
Stone said HSUD has growing pains right now.
Three of the four big outages in recent weeks have been related to upgrade work being done on the system, including the Neely Street substation and new Tennessee Valley Authority line to Ashland.
