Sign-up to run for the offices of mayor and aldermen is now available. The qualifying deadline is January 31, 2025, at 5 p.m.

Election days are set for April 1 (primary election), April 22 (primary runoff election) and June 8 (general election).

Voter registration deadlines for the municipal elections are March 3 for the first primary.

Candidates in Holly Springs, as of Tuesday, Jan. 21, are for office of mayor, Andre’ R. DeBerry, Sharon D. Gipson, Dwight Harris and Charles Terry.

Candidates for office of alderman, Ward 1, are Terri Harvey, Sandra “Sunshine Lady” Hodges; for Ward 3 is Columbus Bell; and for Municipal Executive Committee, Ishmell H. Edwards and Sara Power.

Candidates in Ashland are Aldermen, Tony Tidwell.

Warming Center in Holly Springs

The City of Holly Springs Warming Center will be open at the Eddie L. Smith Multi-Purpose Center from 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. each day. The Center will be open until further notice.

Ribbon Cutting in Byhalia

A Ribbon Cutting ceremony will be held at Blue Steel Mfg., LLC on Friday, January 31 at 11 a.m. Blue Steel is located at 261 Quality Drive in Byhalia. The ceremony is sponsored by the Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce.

Bookmark Design Contest

The Marshall County Library System is hosting a Bookmark Design Contest. Age catergories include 0-12, 13-17, 18+. The winners in each age group will have their designs displayed in the library.
