Man faces attempted murder charge

A DeSoto County man, on the run for a couple of months, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in Marshall County, Sheriff Kenny Dickerson said.

Rhandariouis Antwan Dennis, 26, of the 4900 block of Aldy Cove, Southaven, was arrested May 20 by officers with the Southaven Police Department, Dickerson said.

He was arraigned in Marshall County Justice Court May 21 and bond was set at $100,000 by judge Cathy Brittenum, according to Maj. Kelly McMillen with the sheriff's department. The suspect is out of jail on bond.

McMillen said the incident took place in March in the Oakwood Drive subdivision off Highway 309 North.

“There was a disturbance at the residence between the victim and Mr. Dennis,” he said. “The victim attempted to leave and as he was leaving, the suspect fired multiple shots into the back of the vehicle, barely missing the victim.” The Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force and DeSoto

County officials assisted the Marshall County Sheriff's Department in the case.

“The suspect left the state and was arrested when he came back to Mississippi,” McMillen said.

“He was passed out in his truck in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant when he was arrested by Southaven officers.”
