KP Products rep, Hall make request to board

With freeport warehouse ad valorem tax exemptions coming back around to the board room again, Marshall County supervisors heard glowing remarks about one manufacturing company.

KP Building Products representative Wayne Walters joined Justin Hall, executive director of the Marshall County Industrial Development Authority, to request an exemption request on raw materials.

The company, with about 85 employees and approximately 70 percent of them living in Marshall County, just rolled off its 10-year ad valorem tax exemption last year, Hall said.

The company, that manufactures modular home and conventional home vinyl siding, asked for an ad valorem freeport warehouse exemption on an estimated $1,171,160 stock of raw materials. The business is located on Highway 7 North and is housed in the old Sunbeam building.
