Kelly strong on military readiness
U.S. Rep. Trent Kelly, from Mississippi’s 1st congressional district, was guest speaker at the Holly Springs Rotary Club recently and focused on the military, agriculture and more.
He was home on a congressional break and visiting many of the 22 counties in his district.
Kelly, a graduate of Ole Miss and 31-year veteran of the Mississippi National Guard, was deployed multiple times in Desert Storm and in Iraq.
With Kelly was his communications director Susan Parker and aide Walt Starr, a field representative for the congressman.
Before discussing recent legislation, Kelly asked to be sent well qualified interns who want to serve in the D.C. office, saying “all our young people need that opportunity.”
