"It was a fantastic parade"

The Holly Springs Christmas Parade, organized by the Holly Springs Advancement Society, was a huge success by all accounts.

Holly Springs Mayor Charles Terry and Ward 1 alderman Sandra Hodges and the Sunshine Ladies participated from the city.

Tim Liddy served as Grand Marshal.

There were 25 entries for floats and vehicles, according to Joanne Huff, Parade Committee Coordinator. These did not include the fire trucks.

The H.W. Byers and Holly Springs High School bands marched in the parade.

Huff said approximately 40 participants were expected but some of those registered for the parade did not participate.

Co-chairs Patrick Foster and Tanya Churchill, as well as Huff, were on the committee. Photos were taken by Michelle Anderson. Alecia Harris is president of the Holly Springs Advancement Society.

The unforgettable Annie Moffitt and Rick Raimey served as emcees. The public address system was provided by WKRA radio. Kevin Thomas provided the sound stage.

The committee thanked the following sponsors:

• Bank of Holly Springs

• Kevin Thomas

• National Fidelity Loans

• Unity Bank

• First Metropolitan Finance

• State Farm

• Beth White

• First Rate Reality

• WKRA

• Cousin’s Gravel

First place contest winner was TCI Automotive/Ashland. Second place winner was Marshall County Correctional Facility “Winter Wonderland”. Third place winner was Benton County Eastern Star and Sanders Chapter No. 85, Lodge #721.

“It was a community project,” Huff said. “A lot of people were involved. It was a fantastic parade.”
