IG Design Group, which located in Marshall County at the Chickasaw Trail Industrial Park last summer, is planning to expand and add new jobs.

IG Design expanding at Chickasaw

IG Design Group, a gift wrapping production and distribution company, has announced an expansion of its operations in the Chickasaw Trail Industrial Park.

The expansion will create 300 jobs by May 2022, according to a press release from the Mississippi Development Authority. Currently, IG Design leases a

554,000-square-foot facility developed by Panattoni Development, phase one of the project.

Phase two includes the additional leasing of 338,580 square feet, with an option to expand by 338,600 more square feet in phase three.

IG Design manufactures and distributes gift-wrapping products and gift bags, craft products, stationery and serves an international market.

Marshall County Industrial Development Authority Director Justin Hall said IG Design, already in the county, saw an opportunity to expand its operations long-term.

Prior to this new phase coming up, IG was just warehousing finished products, he said. Now they will install equipment to print, roll paper and break it down in rolls for retail stores like Walmart and Dollar General, he said.

The original project investment was $45 million, and this additional $57 million investment in Marshall County brings the total investment to $102 million, he said.

The Tennessee Valley incentive infrastructure will assist in creating and retaining these new jobs and Marshall County will qualify the project for tax incentives, Hall said.

Last year Marshall County added over 420 new jobs in manufacturing and distribution, he said.

The Mississippi Development Authority is assisting this expansion with a $2 million grant to help with relocation of equipment. IG also qualifies for the Advantage Jobs Rebate program, available to businesses that create new jobs that exceed the average annual wage of the state or county.

MDA interim director John Rounsaville praised Marshall County for its many top-notch companies, such as IG Design Group.

“This type of outstanding growth can be attributed to the talented leadership of the Marshall County IDA, Marshall County Board of Supervisors and TVA,” he said. “Working with MDA, their hard work is reaping numerous benefits for the residents of Marshall County and their local communities.”

Keith Taylor, supervisor of District 3, welcomed the new investment.

“We are committed to assisting IG in order to ensure they are successful for many years to come,” he said. “This announcement represents many great career opportunities for our community and area residents. We appreciate the partnership and support from MDA and TVA.”

John Bradley, TVA senior vice president of economic development, congratulated IG on its decision to expand operations at Chickasaw Trail Industrial Park.

“Helping to foster job opportunities in the Valley is fundamental to TVA’s mission of service and we are proud to partner with MCIDA and MDA to help further that mission and support IG Design Group’s continued business success in the Valley,” he said.
