Housing task force reports to board

Some members of the Marshall County Housing Task Force recently reported to the board of supervisors.

The discussion was led by chairman Gary Anderson, who reported on recent activities. Included in those were plans to develop a marketing plan for the county. The committee met with school board superintendents to look for ways to increase achievement in the schools. And a financing strategy is being discussed to see ways to help stimulate new home construction.

He said the task force wants to work with employers to ask them to encourage their employees to locate in Marshall County. Employees can be advised on how to develop a savings plan toward purchase of a new home.
