The Holly Springs Fire Department responded to a house fire Thursday at 3:24 p.m. on North Randolph Street. Chief Rodney Crane said the duplex had only one tenant at the time with the other apartment vacant. No one was home at the time of the fire. The structure was a total loss. Crane said the fire spread rapidly in the old house, running to the roof which caused it to collapse. The fire is still under investigation, he said. City firemen, who also received assistance from other local fire departments, were on the scene for about four hours.
