Hale updates supervisors on school issues

Marshall County School District Superintendent Lela Hale recently reported to the board of supervisors on school district concerns.

She was accompanied by Penne Robinson with the central office.

Under routine maintenance requirements, the water tanks at Galena School are being repaired and coated, she said. And one pressure tank at H.W. Byers School was replaced with a 2,500-gallon tank in good condition purchased from Tate County Schools, she said.

Concerning transportation, there are still school bus needs. The district bought two used buses and replaced several motors in order to help replenish the fleet. A car was purchased to cut down on travel expenses.

Renovations of buildings continue to be on the list of needs.
