Friends of Hill Crest clean stones

A group of friends of Hill Crest gathered with brushes in hand to clean several stones in the old section of the historic cemetery Saturday, Oct. 20.

Spearheaded by a number of people who are upset about the care the cemetery has received this year, men, women and children had a field day demonstrating the use of an eco-friendly cleaner on a number of stones.

“We have invited people who may have an interest in the cemetery, even if they have no loved ones buried here,” said Robin McNeill, daughter of the late Bud Holbrook who made upkeep of the cemetery and cleaning the stones a labor of love for many years.
