Faye Woods asks county supervisors to support the arts

Faye Woods, executive director of the Byhalia Area Arts Council, and her husband, former state Sen. Tommy Woods, visited the Marshall County Board of Supervisors meeting recently to seek support for the arts.

Faye Woods detailed many of the benefits of the arts. The arts improve the quality of life, attract tourism, stimulate business, and inspire confidence in children, she said. And they create jobs.

Woods and members of the arts council teach classes at Byhalia Middle School. A recent project, that is installed on the facade of the Old Byhalia School building, shows designs for quilts created by Byhalia school children.

Woods said children are easy to impress.
