Fault on transmission causes outages
The Holly Springs Utility Department and Northcentral Electric Power Association experienced outages early Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Michael Bellipanni, marketing and business development director, said Northcentral lost power to the Byhalia Road and Cox Road substations around 1 a.m. Wednesday due to a fault in the transmission coming into their system. More than 7,000 members were affected, he said.
“But we were able to respond quickly and got power restored through some switching just after 2:30 a.m.,” he said.
He said the fault was not with TVA transmission. Power was rerouted through an alternative route.
