Family conference Sept. 23
A Time for Healing is the theme of an upcoming Saving the Family Conference, sponsored by Rivers of Faith Ministries.
The conference, to be held in Holly Springs, will include workshops for adults and one for children. It is set for Saturday, Sept. 23, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is $15 for adults and $10 for youth.
Panelists will go into an in-depth coverage of issues affecting today’s families. Topics include crime, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, guns and other areas of concern.
Rev. R.J. Wilson, with Mt. Moriah MB Church, said conference organizers are working to bring together the law enforcement community with the faith community to cover both sides of the spectrum.
They will discuss prospective criminal situations officers face, plus national issues like police shootings and profiling.
