Disaster Recovery Committee closes out; celebration Saturday
It’s time to celebrate a united effort in assisting those affected by one of the worst disasters in Marshall County history.
The Marshall County Disaster Recovery Committee, an all-volunteer group, has completed its business and officially closed out April 1 in helping residents recover from the December 23, 2015, tornado that cut a swath through the area.
The celebration, set for Saturday at Rust College, will recognize volunteers, the community and those whose lives were put back together with volunteer efforts and donations – a grass-roots effort. Bill Scott, committee chair, said a program will be held at 2 p.m. in Morehouse Auditorium on the Rust campus.
