County rebids couple of road projects

The Marshall County Board of Supervisors has decided to rebid two road projects.

One big micro seal project, which covers about 30 miles of road distributed in all five supervisor districts, will be rebid at the recommendation of county engineer Larry Britt.

He said bids were rejected and the county road department will likely be taken off the project because crews are already strapped with work this season.

A second project to repair and reseal Wall Hill Road will likely be rebid, as well. The county road department could save up to about $60,000 on the project by doing repairs prior to applying scrub seal. Britt said he thinks the state engineer underestimated the job. He wants to reduce the scope of the project to save money and rebid it.
