County fairgrounds not allowing alcohol

Earlier this year members of the Marshall County Board of Supervisors addressed rumors that the Fairgrounds Association was charging $10 a cooler at the gate.

Supervisors alleged the coolers were for patrons to bring in beer.

Brad Hart addressed the subject in his report to the board in March.

In an update to the board on activities at the fairgrounds, Hart first reported a barrel race at the end of March drew more than 600 entries with competitors coming from as far away as Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas. It was the biggest barrel race to date, he said.
