County, city school districts receive “C” ratings
The Holly Springs School District saw good things and areas where work is needed in recently released accountability ratings.
The district as a whole was graded a “C,” the same as the previous year. However, superintendent of education Irene Turnage said the district is not far away from moving up a letter grade in the Mississippi Department of Education’s ratings.
“We are pleased that the district’s score increased overall (in total points), and the district is still considered successful,” she said. “Despite an accountability system that has changed four years in a row, the district is closer to a ‘B’ rating than it has ever been.”
