Cotton harvest
Jody McMinn began harvesting one of his cotton fields this past weekend. He said he has a total of 500 acres planted this year, but in several locations. Pictured is harvesting from the Gurley Road location outside Potts Camp. This location has not had cotton planted on it since 1993, according to Farm Service Agency records. The land belonged to the late Harvey J. and Mattie Gurley and is still family-owned and -operated.
