Community unites to pray for love, healing, strength

In light of recent tragedies, the community came together Thursday for a night of prayer.

“In the past few days, months and years we’ve lost a number of our youth to senseless acts of violence and other tragedies,” said Ejeera Selmer-Dukes, one of the organizers of the event. “It’s important to keep our lives lifted up in prayer.

“When one hurts, we all hurt. Let’s love one another and be there for one another.

“Let’s make Marshall County a great place to live.”

The event, sponsored by the City of Holly Springs and originally scheduled to be a part of the downtown Jam Session, was moved to the Eddie Lee Smith Multi-Purpose Center due to the weather.
