City of Holly Springs tests weather sirens
Holly Springs, in concert with the school districts and other local agencies, participated in a severe weather awareness test of the city’s six sirens.
Holly Springs Fire Chief Ken Holbrook said the test was statewide with agencies covered by sirens participating in the test.
The third week in February, the 20th-24th was Severe Weather Awareness Week. The week was declared Spring Severe Weather Preparedness Week because March, April and May are the months with the most tornadoes in Mississippi.
This is the first statewide test of weather sirens. It was designated with a proclamation signed by Gov. Phil Bryant.
