Chickasaw Celebration two weeks away

A first-ever Chickasaw Celebration is set to take place in Spring Hollow Park September 14.
“It is the first event honoring the first people in our area,” said David Person, who with about 20 others has helped develop the project over the last three years.
The group of planners has risen from two, Person and Marie Moore, to about 20 total, he said.
The event is supported by the Chickasaw Inkana Foundation, the Chickasaw Project of Marshall County, the City of Holly Springs, Main Street Chamber of Holly Springs, Mississippi Humanities Council, and Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area.
