Byhalia UMC celebrates 175th year this Sunday

June 25 is a date to remember in Byhalia. The community will celebrate  the 175th anniversary of  Byhalia United Methodist Church, established in 1842 as Byhalia Methodist Episcopal Church South.

Service begins at 10 a.m. this Sunday with Bishop James Swanson Sr., the invited guest speaker. The church will serve lunch by reservation only. Call  662-838-2237 or email secretary@byhaliaumc.org by June 22 for reservations. A nursery will be available, with entertainment for the children including a bounce house.

Bishop Swanson will bring a spirited worship. There will be witnesses to give testimony to the church ministry and  the significance of the church. And there will be a baptismal service and the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated.
