The old Salem Avenue bridge in Holly Springs has been taken out by Talbot Brothers Inc. When rebuilt in 2022, the bridge over the railroad tracks will be raised seven or eight feet to accommodate trains carrying stacks of three cargo containers on their decks. Work is expected to continue on bridge piling and structural work in the coming months.
