Bible group celebrates fifth year
A group of seniors celebrated their fifth year of Bible study at Asbury United Methodist Church, April 4. It was also the 50th anniversary of the death of Martin Luther King Jr.
Al Beck, one of the original committee members who formed the group, said the group met the first time the first week in April 2013.
“Bible study makes us become stronger in our faith, eating and fellowshipping,” he said.
In January 2013, a committee met to discuss what they wanted to do. It was first decided to be Bible study, lunch and recreation. It evolved into exercise, Bible study, lunch and recreation. Then Rust College students also got involved to teach participants how to use their smart phones, mobile phones and computers.
