BEAM board members attend workshop

BEAM (Building Excellence Advancing Marshall) Board members Steve Gresham, Anita Cowan and Executive Director Sarah Sawyer attended a Community Affiliate Workshop held at CREATE Foundation in Tupelo on January 14th. The workshop goals were to educate Community Affiliates on building sustainable endowments, to share best practices with donor communication, and to provide tools for Endowment building. Topics included Endow Mississippi, Estate Planning, and IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution. Other areas covered were marketing, promotions, social media and e-newsletters to inform and educate the communities about the work of the Affiliates.

Community Affiliates for the Counties in Northeast Mississippi were established by CREATE to meet ongoing needs and special projects that would benefit its endowment building efforts.

The BEAM board met on February 3rd to set the 2025 Calendar and to schedule planning sessions for marketing, donor outreach, presentations and to build the annual grant process.
