Arrests made following shooting
A shooting New Year’s Day shortly before 3 p.m. Is under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and by officers with the Marshall County Violent Crime Task Force, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.
He said his office was called to assist the Holly Springs Police Department in a reported shooting in the 500 block of Hudsonville Road.
When county officers arrived to the scene LifeGuard Ambulance Service had transported the adult male victim to Methodist Olive Branch. The victim appeared to have a gunshot wound to the right leg, he said.
The shooting was possibly motivated by a verbal altercation between two adult males regarding the legal ownership of an automobile, Dickerson said.

One automobile at the scene had been struck by projectiles and a projectile had been fired into the dwelling at the address, Dickerson said.
A child was determined to be inside the house when the shooting occurred but was not struck, he said.
