Arrests made in burglaries

Two suspects have been arrested and another is still at large in connection with two residential burglaries last week, according to sheriff Kenny Dickerson.

One suspect is a juvenile, he said.

The residential burglaries took place in the areas of Farley Road and Shinault Road on June 13 and 14, the sheriff said.

In the Farley Road burglary, the victim returned home to find a window air conditioner taken out of the window, the point of entry for burglars. They took guns and hunting and camping equipment from the residence.

In the Shinault Road burglary, the victims returned home and found their home had been broken into. Numerous firearms, televisions and DVD players were missing.

“Investigators got a tip on Friday, June 16, of one suspect who is being charged,” Dickerson said.

Investigators went to a residence on Alberson Road in Byhalia where they recovered items taken from both burglaries, according to the sheriff.

DeSoto County investigators went to a residence on North Red Banks Road in DeSoto County and recovered some more items taken during these burglaries, Dickerson said.

Trystin Williams, 20, of the Alberson Road area, was arrested June 16 and charged with two counts of residential burglary and with one count of manufacturing marijuana.

Williams’ bond on  the two burglary charges were set at $10,000 each and his bond on the marijuana charge was set at $10,000, bringing his bond total to $30,000.

The juvenile arrested in the case is charged with one count of burglary, according to the sheriff’s department.

Both Williams and the juvenile remained in custody Tuesday morning of this week.

A warrant has been issued for Demarious Debonta Tunstall, 19, of the North Red Banks Road address area. Tunstall is still at large.

The warrant issued for Tunstall’s arrest has been entered online with law enforcement.

Dickerson encourages homeowners to make a list of the serial numbers on all property of value in the residence.

Then if their home is burglarized, the equipment can be identified and returned if it is recovered by law enforcement. Keep the record of serial numbers in a number of safe locations.
