Anderson Chapel hosts CME regional conference
The Northeast Mississippi Region of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME) held its 2018 conference at Anderson Chapel in Holly Springs the week of July 23.
The presiding prelate, Rev. Charles James King Jr., headed up the event, which drew a church full of worshipers to the city. Local church members were abundantly present.
Rev. Albert Young, the bishop’s son-in-law, brought the message Tuesday morning, preceding Mayor Kelvin Buck’s presentation of the keys to the city to the prelate.
Young preached from Scripture, reminding worshipers the Christian life is like a race.
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.” — 1 Corinthians 9:24.
