Northwest 2024 Fall graduates
Northwest Mississippi Community College officials announced that 443 graduates have been awarded degrees and certificates for the Fall 2024 semester. Degrees were officially conferred by Dr. Michael Heindl, Northwest president, on Friday, December 13, during the college’s 117th Commencement.
Some of the students which graduated include: Georquishia Ambrose of Lamar, Joshua Blake of Waterford, Brissa Calderon of Byhalia, Victoria Carpenter of Byhalia, Hunter Dunlop of Byhalia, Tatem Emrich of Byhalia, Ja’mrie Faulkner of Potts Camp, Tearsha Fitts of Byhalia, Angela Gresham of Holly Springs, Larissa Hill of Ashland, Makerria Key of Byhalia, Kelsey Kirkland of Hickory Flat, Kenyondria Lewis of Byhalia, Camila Maximiliano of Potts Camp, Grant McKinney of Byhalia, Jakeeva Morrow of Michigan City, Samantha Pairmore of Potts Camp, Kaylan Parks of Michigan City, Luke Pilcher of Byhalia, Beverly Ray of Potts Camp, Kaley Rikard of Byhalia, Rona Sharp of Hickory Flat, Lakendra Stewart of Waterford, Bisa Stewart of Byhalia, Ranisha Stewart of Byhalia, Tyleah Stone of Holly Springs, Marcuasha Thomas of Lamar, Crystal Thomas of Byhalia, Ja’nya Turnage of Potts Camp, Lanie Valentine of Lamar, Jerlonda Wilkins of Holly Springs, Macy Woods of Byhalia, and Tyler Yatta of Byhalia.
Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch served as commencement speaker and shared her unique insights and wisdom with the graduates. Fitch is Mississippi’s 40th Attorney General and the state’s first-ever female Attorney General. She was elected in January of 2020 and was reelected in 2023. In 2022, Time magazine named her one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World, alongside many other accolades for her accomplished career.
Dr. Heindl also surprised the Honorable Fitch with her own degree via reverse transfer from the college where she started her college career many years ago.
