Police investigate robbery, make arrests The Holly Springs Police Department made six arrests
for the week ending February 19 and investigated an armed robbery and
auto burglary. Chief Robert Pearson said officers
responded to an armed robbery call in the 600 block of Highway 7 North
around 8:40 p.m. February 19. The store attendant
stated a black male wearing tan pants, a white shirt and white tennis
shoes came into the store demanding money. He wore a wave cap covering
his face and some type of skull cap and appeared to have a gun tucked
in his waist band, Pearson said. The investigation is ongoing with police asking anyone with information to call the department at 662-252-2122. Officers
arrested Robert “Q.T.” Leasure, 64, of Holly Springs, last week after
responding to a disturbance in the 100 block of Memphis Street,
according to the police chief. Leasure was charged with aggravated
assault. On Friday, Pearson said officers
arrested Beverly Harris, 30, of Holly Springs on an outstanding warrant
charging uttering forgery. Ronnie LaShawn Boyd, 19, of Holly Springs, was arrested and charged with six counts of forgery, according to Pearson. Police
arrested Kendrick P. Duncan, 18, of Holly Springs, Saturday, February
23, and charged him with felony possession of marijuana, the chief said. Two
men were arrested Sunday, February 24. Johnny C. Stricklen, 20, of New
Albany, and Joel Matthew Chapman, 21, of Blue Mountain, were charged
with burglary and possession of a controlled substance with intent to
sell, Pearson said. Officers investigated an auto
burglary report in the 200 block of Martin Luther King Drive. The owner
stated she parked her white, 2006 Nissan Sentra around mid-night and
when she returned she found the back window on the driver’s side was
broken out. Officers also responded to the
following activities for the week, including: driving while license
suspended (2); no driver’s license/expired license (1); no proof of
insurance (1); DUI (1); simple assault by threat (1); simple assault
(1); malicious mischief (1); petit larceny (1); shoplifting (1);
possession of a controlled substance (1). Anyone
having information regarding any crime committed in Holly
Springs/Marshall area, is asked to contact the Holly Springs Police

are not required to give their name and may be entitled to a reward of
up to $1,000.
